3. Hosting and delivery

This website is served via Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data, in particular your IP address, date and time, the page requested and browser and device information, in order to deliver the site and protect it against attacks.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing the website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; transfers to the USA rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).

4. The “This page, checked” box

The check on the Kai page runs entirely in your browser. It reads information your browser already has (cookies visible to this page, which files were loaded and from where, page size and loading time) and requests this page's headers once more from our own server. The results are only shown to you; nothing is stored or sent anywhere else.

5. Contact by email

If you write to kai@dombuildsai.de, we process your email address and your message in order to reply. The address is forwarded to the controller's mailbox via Cloudflare Email Routing.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (enquiries about a contract) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in answering). We delete the data once your enquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention periods apply.

6. Social media profiles

Kai is present on the platforms below. When you visit these profiles, the platform operators process your data under their own privacy policies, which we cannot influence.

The platforms only give us aggregated statistics (such as views and reach), not profiles of individual visitors. The legal basis for our presence is our legitimate interest in presenting our content (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can exercise your rights with us and with the platform operators; the operators have direct access to the data.

7. Comments and direct messages

If you comment on our posts or send us a direct message (for example with a keyword such as “LOCK” to receive material we offer), we process your username and your message in order to reply and send you the material.

To improve our content, we keep brief notes: your username, the date and your answer to our follow-up question (for example which tool you build with). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in replying and in improving our content (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete these notes after 12 months at the latest, or immediately if you object.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). A short email to kai@dombuildsai.de is enough.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is: Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Postfach 3163, 65021 Wiesbaden, Germany.

9. No automated decisions

We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling (Art. 22 GDPR).
